ThermaVein
One device, five conditions: thread veins, skin lesions, skin tags, cherry angiomas and warts, treated by thermocoagulation and assessed and carried out by Kim Armstrong, Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber.

The technology
How ThermaVein works
ThermaVein works by thermocoagulation. A single-use probe, roughly the width of a human hair, rests on the surface of the skin. Gentle pressure empties the vessel, and the device delivers one pin-point microburst of low energy that seals it.
The vessel is sealed rather than the blood treated, which is what separates it from higher-energy approaches. The blood is reabsorbed naturally and the vessel ceases to exist. No laser, no intense pulsed light and no diathermy is used, so the energy stays where the probe is placed instead of passing across the surrounding skin.
Most of the work takes minutes and most people describe little more than a brief sharp warmth. There is no downtime. You return to normal activities straight away, with no bandages or compression required.

Common questions
What is ThermaVein?
ThermaVein is a thermocoagulation device: an ultra-thin, single-use probe delivers a regulated microburst of low-energy heat exactly where it's placed, sealing the vessel or tissue beneath it. It's the technology behind several of the treatments on this site.
What conditions does ThermaVein treat?
Thread veins, skin lesions, skin tags, cherry angiomas and warts. The principle is the same in every case, targeted, low-energy heat, but the area, number of sessions and preparation differ by condition.
How is ThermaVein different from laser or IPL?
Laser and IPL work by passing light over an area. ThermaVein treats one point at a time with a physical probe and low energy, which allows more precision and generally suits a wider range of skin tones.
Is treatment painful, and is there downtime?
Most people describe a brief hot pinprick rather than ongoing pain. There is no downtime. Most people return to normal activities immediately, with no bandages or compression required.
Which condition should I book for?
You'll be asked to choose the condition you'd like treated when you book your online consultation, so Kim knows what she's assessing before you meet. If you're unsure, book anyway and she'll confirm it with you.
Is ThermaVein available in Marbella?
Currently provided in London only. Kim's other services remain available in Marbella. Ask at consultation if you are unsure.
